I think i experienced lag like that once or maybe twice. I think its just internet speed cus even though i play in gms i can still pick up items fine. Like the EMS ppl can.

It's not "modified"... eMS lag is much less than gMS. We have our bad points (evenings and weekends), but for the most part, it's totally lag-free. As has been said, it's mostly down to where you are in relation to the servers and your ISP. I'm close to my ISP (as in less than 50 miles) with a 24 MB connection, PLUS close to the eMS servers... Therefore, no lag.

But I did register a eMS account and played in beta. Haven't logged in since than; I suppose I can't login anymore since im not from Europe.

I would conclude that this only applies to those outside of the US. Unless you have: a bad internet connection, a crappy computer, or a horrible video card - than you shouldn't lag like shown in the video.Point is, I don't lag like that in gMS, but lag like that in eMS, and mSEA.

I lag like hell in gMS, in eMS i barley lag at all.And if you live in USA, you probably wont lag to bad, since you have closer to the servers, than the people that live in Europe, which the person in this video does.eMS

wow, when I play gMS I don't lag at all. it looks more like eMS for me and I have a cheap connection. It might just be location because i'm in the US.... I don't know.

Probably because I use scandia, but the lag is really bad for me sometimes. I can actually get out of areas because of the lag xD. I press the portal and I sit their waiting for a minute for something to happen. There was one day when all the monster would just run in place, but you could run around freely, but were trapped in the area. Super annoying. You'd count your hits, move to the next thing, and keep doing this. Eventually the thing you killed 3 minutes ago would die.

*headdesk*Uhm, crap. EVEN THAT PERSON WHO HAS LAG ISN'T AS LAGGY AS I AM! What the heck are they complaining about. During the day, it's like, it takes me twice as long as that video, if not three times as bad.-.- If I ever get fraps, I'll make a video and show everyone just how bad MY internet is. >.> Even at my internet's best time, monsters still lag on the screen. Stupid oregon internet. I need to get internet that's in California, and maybe not so far away. @_@ Most of the internet things around here are based in Oregon though. Unless you count 24k dialup. >.> In that case, I don't.

QUOTE(MąriaCølette @ Nov 22 2007, 07:40 AM) I experience that a LOT. Sadly, there is no server nearer to me than GMS. :|I don't think I've ever managed to pick up mesos that fast before. >_> It's a combination of that + sucky internet.I'm in the same boat, I have really bad lag here lately. I only hope that Nexon will upgrade their server and connection so it smooths out again lol. I know this is a little off topic, but a friend of mine lives in the UK and how can she play GMS ?she's tried to Download it but it keeps on downloading EMS I think.any help is welcomed lol.

QUOTE(lukyinferno @ Dec 30 2007, 06:22 PM) ok what the hell.... the ping you have in-game affects how far you live from the server that is keeping up maplestory: if you live in europe you will have more ping in global duhhh if u live in america u will have less ping in global... the meso fast pickiing was prolly hacks ^^ plus ems WILL get laggy once their worlds become as popular as gmsexcuse me? you call fast picking up.. hacks? my picking up rate is faster in eMS than him and our server are getting crowded too atm.please, explain your logics

I live in the UK, i lag less in eMS but i refuse to play it. I don't even lag that much in gMS, anyway.By what i can see in the dark sight thing, she lags ALOT more than I do. I can do that spam the attack button thing, but when she goes out of DS it takes a few seconds to work. Lagplz.

Only occasionally when I was at college using their connection did I notice a really bad amount of delay, especially when picking up mesos. Here at home in California I never really notice the problem, though I've a expensive connection, and as I understand the server is located in California...Donna if that'd make a big difference.

He has about the same connection speed as me. That's why I need a pet to pick up, or else I won't earn anything.I was like 'OMFG' when I first played eMS.

Bear in mind, that person is from Denmark, therefore for all Europeans, eMS is going to be much faster than gMS because of the simple fact that the eMS servers are closer. Even in the busy periods, eMS lags less than that Global lag there. Unless the servers are packed in which case it's about the same. Having seen that video though, I have to say I'm glad that I ended up playing eMS, even if we don't have as much content. If I had that much lag in picking up items, I'd have a lot less patience with the game. I like being able to do things straight away, not wait 5 seconds for a response. The gMS lag shown there... I experienced that a couple of times in eMS (just after patches when EVERYONE comes online at once) and it usually ends up with me logging off and doing something else.So yes, I have to say I'm proud to be a Mapler without lag

Back in 2005 GMS used to be like EMS. The reason is obvious.... So many more players from around the world playing. They even have effing commercials now. How can they keep the server nice and smoothif there is like a billion kids from around the world playing?!AAAANNNNDDD the old perverts....
